Senmi Ekisu Co., Ltd. is a leading Japanese manufacturer and distributor of "nature-based" food extracts and seasonings.

Business Overview

Using our enzyme-assisted extraction technology, we primarily manufacture and sell extract seasonings and functional food ingredients (including ingredients for specific health uses). We also offer proposals for effectively using our extracts, including recipes and other creative suggestions.

Our History

1976: Established as Shikoku Ekisu Industries Ltd. in Yawatahama City, Ehime Prefecture (Capital: 3 million yen).
1977: New factory completed in Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture (current location).

1979: Capital increased to 18 million yen.
1981: Company name changed to Senmi Ekisu Co., Ltd.
1982: Senmi Ekisu Sales Co., Ltd. established in Yawatahama City, Ehime Prefecture
1984: New head office building completed.

1991: Celebrated the 15th anniversary of Senmi Ekisu's founding. Commemorative garden completed.
1994: New factory completed. Presented with the "Excellent Company" award at the 40th anniversary ceremony of Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture.

1996: Celebrated the 20th anniversary of Senmi Ekisu Co., Ltd.’s founding.
1997: Senmi Corporation Co., Ltd. established (Capital: 50 million yen).
1998: Founder Kazuharu Osajima assumed role of chairman, with son Katsuhiro Osajima taking over as president. Acquired HACCP certified factory status.
1999: Second factory newly completed. Acquired permission for "SP Marine" under the Food for Specified Health Uses (FOSHU) system.

2001: Celebrated the 25th anniversary of Senmi Ekisu Co., Ltd.’s founding.
2003: Senmi Ekisu Co., Ltd. Fukuyama Branch opened.
2006: Published commemorative book The Path of Senmi Ekisu for the 30th anniversary of Senmi Ekisu Co., Ltd.'s founding.
2009: Received the Shikoku Industrial Technology Award, Technical Achievement Award, Grand Prize (Shikoku Industrial and Technological Advancement Center).
2010: Best Food Co., Ltd. established in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture (Capital: 10 million yen).
2012: Received the 45th Good Company Award, Excellent Company Award (Small and Medium Enterprise Research Center).
2013: Received the FY2013 National Excellent Food Sanitation Facility Award (Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award). Received the Shikoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry Director's Award at the 5th Manufacturing Japan Awards.
2014: New company building (head office building) completed.
2015: Third factory and new office building completed. Established shipping bases (Kansai and Kanto regions).

2019: Received the 40th Food Industry Excellent Company Award (Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award). Certified for the Business Continuity Strengthening Plan (Small and Medium Enterprise Agency).
2020: Certified as a 2020 Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization by METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry). Acquired FSSC 22000 certification. Designated as a Regional Future Traction Company by METI.
